TOS, I was spoiling for a fight. Sometimes you just have to stand up and confront Fiberals. Wish Bush would have done it this time. The Senate could be closer after the next election because of all the natural disasters and gas prices...I don't think there'll be another chance for this president to name a rock solid conservative. Few presidents got to appoint more than a couple supreme court justices.
F. Roosevelt had 7 but he was in office almost 4 full terms, Lincoln had 5, but some justices resigned because of the civil war and George Washington appointed 7. Rutherford B. Hayes had 3. So it's tuff to see how Bush will get another, but who knows...there's still three years.

Bush just like all Politicians bends to popular consensus. It is obvious he nominated Maier sp? because she appears safe. Bush doesn't want to alienate too many moderates. He is a most excellent politician with a sleazy advisor like Mr. Rove. You may not believe me but I have little respect for Republicans or Democrats they are both self serving. LV

It’s spelled “Miers” you should check out my web page www.namespellchecker.com. It’s for situations like this. You can find names you don’t know by searching names you do know or using title or activity. Like Bush, O’Connor will help you find Miers.

That having been said I don’t see how you can call her selection a “popular” choice. Popular for whom? Seems to me he has alienated about everybody with her selection except one of the biggest slease masters of the Democrats, Harry Reid.

You can call Rove Sleazy if you want, but he’s doing a certain kind of job...just like the “snake Carville” or the ultimate slease master Dick Morris. It’s a political advice position, what do you expect? I’d also like you to give me a very specific example of exactly what Rove has done you consider sleasy. No nebulous Democrat unsubstantiated tripe. I want specifics.

How about Senator John McCain one of very few Politicians {notice I left out his political affiliation} I respect. In addition he was Matt Cooper's source in leaking Plume's name {a federal offense}. Not to mention the Downing Street memo. As far as misspelling Miers name so what. Compare that to Clinton undoing his zipper! LV

NewsGnome said...

Before I comment. You wrote (sp) following Miers name. I made a simple suggestion to help you easily find name spellings. Your response "so what!"

So you don't care to be accurate? What other facts are you playing fast and loose with? Typical fiberal trait.

The way you wrote your comment you are blaming McCain for leaking Cooper's identity and you respect him for that? Ya, got me on that one.

So where's your Rove "sleaze." Thanks for proving my point, lots of accusations no evidence.

Still defending Clinton, it'is a lost cause. He's lowered the moral threshold farther that any president in history..."blow jobs are sex." Goting to tell that to your daughter?

The DSM even Blair has discredited right here in America in a visit to Bush.It was a joke from the beginning. You been spending a lot of time on MoveOn.org or Crankyliberal type sites? Sounds like it.

I'm not really clear how much a billion dollars is but the United States — our United States — is spending $5.6 billion a month fighting this war in Iraq that we never should have gotten into. We still have 139,000 soldiers in Iraq today. Almost 2,000 Americans have died there. For what?

Now we have the hurricanes to pay for. One way our government pays for a lot of things is by borrowing from countries like China. Another way the government is planning to pay for the war and the hurricane damage is by cutting spending for things like Medicare prescriptions, highway construction, farm payments, AMTRAK, National Public Radio and loans to graduate students. Do these sound like the things you'd like to cut back on to pay for Iraq?

I'll tell you where we ought to start saving: on our bloated military establishment. We're paying for weapons we'll never use. No other Country spends the kind of money we spend on our military. Last year Japan spent $42 billion. Italy spent $28 billion, Russia spent only $19 billion. The United States spent $455 billion. We have 8,000 tanks for example. One Abrams tank costs 150 times as much as a Ford station wagon. We have more than 10,000 nuclear weapons — enough to destroy all of mankind. We're spending $200 million a year on bullets alone. That's a lot of target practice. We have 1,155,000 enlisted men and women and 225,000 officers. One officer to tell every five enlisted soldier what to do. We have 40,000 colonels alone and 870 generals.

We had a great commander in WWII, Dwight Eisenhower. He became President and on leaving the White House in 1961, he said this: “We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. …" Well, Ike was right. That's just what’s happened.

Don't worry I won't write again. You obviously enjoy only those who agree. The above is from Andy Rooney he is far more eloquent than you or I and furthermore "Ike was right" I wonder if you will leave Andy's thoughts up? I doubt it, but surprise me. LV for the final time.

Quote: William Bennett "the former [GOP] U.S. education secretary-turned-talk show host said Wednesday that "if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose -- you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down." Bennett quickly added that such an idea would be "an impossible, ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do." But, he said, "your crime rate would go down." (paragraph 2) Washington Post, September 30, 2005.

Hero of yours?

I myself don't condone what William Bennet said. But if he said the sam thing about a white person/Jew you can bet there would be no backlash on that. You know that movie "White Men Can't Jump"? That is a racist title.I'll bet it would never be allowed if there was a movie"Black Men Can't Cry". It's called a double standard.
Also alot of these highway bill
also come with extra quirks. They also want special program monies besides the money for the highways.
And who the hell needs National Public Radio when all they do is bash the government. They want funding for bashing? Screw 'em!
So a litle higher copay for medicare. Some of those people have more of an income than working people.
As far as Iraq goes, 80% of congress agreed to it saying that Saddam was a threat to us and surrounding nations. Hell even Clinton sent 400 cruise missles into Baghdad in 1995 for the sam reasons. Only problem is he didn't finish the job.

LV I doubt you've ever been in the military. You've an obvious coward. I'm also glad you weren't around during WWII when the Marshall plan was proposed. You would have opposed that too and let the Holocaust burn because military equipment is expensive. What utter illogical nonsense.

DON'T PRESUME TO SPEAK FOR ME!

Andy Rooney is a senile intellectual moron and since you don't even consider yourself his equal what does that make you. Of course, after this batch of stupid comments I would agree you are certainly not his intellectual equal. And you are also obvioulsy not mine either. What you're quoting him as saying is the epitome of idiocy. NG

PS: What your diatribe sure shows, though is I must have really gotten under your fiberal skin. Go back and keep kissing crankyliberal's ring...he loves it.

Anonymous said...

Under my skin hardly and if you were as smart as Andy you wouldn't have your piss poor racist blog site! Anoter thing you know that quote I left you a couple weeks ago? It was Goebbels another hero of yours I am sure. You are an idiot and I notice you lack the testosterone to respond to Bennet's racism, racist! Admit you are stupid and I will stop pestering you. Ike was a Republican did you know that? Where is your brown shirt and Gestapo boots? Foundly, LV

NewsGnome said...

TOS Bennett did not say it. He was quoting from the book "Freakonomics" and rejected the concept of the quote in comparing it to a caller's comments. What the liberals are doing is to say that someone who quotes another person (or book), and then rejects the quote is guilty of agreeing with the conclusion of the quote which is ridiculous.

As an example of the twisting they're doing, you quoted the film title "Whitemen can't jump." In LV's world that makes you a racist just because you've quoted and rejected it and the racism it implies. By the way, if white men can't jump why do they hold all the high jump records?

Good grief, if this continues and the left continues to censor everything said, it will be worse than Hitler.

When Louis Farrakhan calls whites "cracker" , with the same connotation as "nigger" when speaking about blacks, what's the difference? Racism is not just the province of one race.

LV....since you're not coming back, you won't have a chance to read this but rather than delete Rooney's quotes, I'm going to use them as the basis of a lengthy post.

They deserve to be exposed for the senile lunacy they really are. NG

Anonymous said...

Every person has had racist thoughts. While growing up exposure to such beliefs would be unavoidable. Bennett is in the public eye and you are a liar. Even conservative talk show hosts indicated Bennett should apologize.Watch some John Stewart and Bill Maher, then chill douche bag. LV

NewsGnome said...

LV....long time no read. How long was it, 10 minutes.

Since you're back to your name calling...I'll keep my version short and quote you. You are a:
Liar
douche bag
A..H..E
racist
There! It take a lot less time just hurling names rather than discussing issues. Come back any time.

Re: racism. I don't know where you grew up, but I wasn't exposed to the kind of racism you apparently experienced, hope that wasn't prevelant in your own home. It certain wasn't in mine.

LA was very diverse even back when I was there. My first real boss was black. One of the hardest working men I ever met. Had to run just to keep up with him, but he taught me a lot...respect for exampe.

But please, keep your fiberal hatred flowing...the more you do the more conservatives win.

You insinuated I lied about my military service. You called Rooney senile, another lie. You insinuated because I believe Rooney is smarter and a better journalist than you I was a moron. So Mr Gnome you began the name calling not I. I was again attempting to speak with you in a calm and meaningful way. YOU BLEW IT! You can't handle Bennett being a nazi just like you! If you were born in Berlin in the 1920's you'd of done the goose step. Do me a favor don't respond I despise people of your ilk. You lack any semblance of gray matter between your ears. Fondly, LV

NewsGnome said...

LV Trying to tell me what to do again? What is it about fiberals? If you despise me so much why do you post here?

Your arguments are lame; your logic non-existent; your writing atrocious; your hate pervasive and your position on issues communistic.

All of your so-called attempts at a "calm, meaningful" discussion are jokes. They're all tinged with that fiberal hate so pervasive today. It's in fiberals blood.

I didn't call you a moron, I called Rooney a moron, and you described yourself and tried to define me as less "eloquent" than Rooney. I just pointed out that you're the one who wrote you're below his "skill" level and tried to include me. It's just that you don't have the subtlety or capacity to understand the nuance of what you yourself wrote.

But please if you want to respond, be my guest. I would never tell someone not to say their piece like censoring fiberals. NG

PS: I have two rules for censorship. If the post language is profanity filled and vile I will remove it. If the post is an advertisment I will remove it.

LV, Your vocabulary is certainly limited. You are the worst
kind of racist. You’re stock in trade is hate. Your intellect is non-existent, and your writing is atrocious.

There, does that make you happy. I doubt you were ever in the military but if you were I can understand why you’re not there any more. What did you do, frag your superior?

No, I don’t believe you that you don’t love Democrats. You kiss Clinton’s tush every chance you get...and sleazy advisors...Carville was exactly what you love... sleaze personified.

You say you don’t respect Democrats, but you write like they’re your “gods” and you kiss their butts and breath in every word that is expelled therefrom.

Interesting that you mentioned that I left out an “l” in example, and you don’t care enough to spell a persons name correctly.

You have to quote Andy Rooney because you don’t have enough brains to figure out how to write anything coherent or original.

I do love the low self-esteem line though. It really shows your total submission to politically correct dribble. In other words, others are doing your thinking for you as usual, you’re just their parrot.

You quote Bennett totally out of context. His use of the word “your” is the editorial usage. Hardly a racial slur as you would suggest and taking is out of the Washington Post is like quoting Mao’s little red book for you commie-cons.

“I’ve been to war”...that’s a problem for you...what do you think the war on terror is...we’re still at war.
I lack testosterone...so now you’re my doctor?

My favorite is “...my number was in the draft asshole”...they sure did that with you. You should have used a comma. Without the comma you’re saying they drafted an “asshole”, with which of course, I agree. Your self description in right on the money. Sentences begin with a capital. You should also include a subject in a sentence as well.

You want me to get my political advice from the likes of John Stewart...who is John Stewart? Perhaps you mean “Jon” Stewart. Are you sure you know how to spell your own name correctly? So you get your political education from Jon Stewart and Bill Maher...that explains a lot.

Of course, since I have so little gray matter between my ears, that’s why you keep coming back to my “racist blog”? You’ve announced you were leaving several times now, but back you come every time.

LV, you just make it too easy. You are the oblivious epitome of a walking straight man.

Sorry LV, you're wrong again...surprise, surprise. Been there done that and before I retired, my last Arbitron book rating, I was beating my the other TV stations 2 to 1, that's 66.6% to 33.3% in case you can't figure that out.

That's a higher than FOX is beating CNN by. I doubt you've done anything in your life in which you've scored that high.
