What will be the first action taken by Barak Obama when he moves into the White House? His first act will be to fire all the federal prosecutors as Clinton did so that he can stop U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald’s investigation which may taint himself or Rahm Emanual. It would be a way to halt any potential link to the "President Elect" to the corruption cesspool that is Illinois politics.
Bill Clinton was under investigation by one of the U.S. Attorneys in Arkansas when he was inaugurated and still fired them. The Senate was under the control of the Democrats at the time so senators weren’t going to complain.
So don’t look for any connection to be discovered connecting the “office of the President Elect” (yuk, yuk) and selling his senate seat. Just one more hypocrisy from the socialistic office of Obama.

L, Did Clinton abuse his power by demanding the resignations of all US Attorneys? Remember there was an on going federal investigation of him when he fired them. He had the constitutional right, but I would call that an abuse of power because it benefited him personally. If Obama does this I think it's way more than hypocritical.

Hope the studies are going well. I would claim your anti-Palin position is a position against her political views and are no different than mine are with Obama. I don’t consider my opposition to him personal as I infer from your comment that you think mine are. But I object to almost everything he did to win the presidency not to mention his all out assault on FEC rules.
Here’s something that may surprise you. I believe Obama has every right to discuss the senate seat appointment with Blagojevich as he should with Patterson in New York to replace Hillary.
What I’m wondering is why he and Emanuel are acting so guilty for doing so. I would assume any president-elect be they Democrat or Republican would discuss all potential senate appointments with any Democrat/Republican governor to try to get the best person who would support his agenda. If Blago tried to sell the seat to Emanuel and Emanuel considered or proposed a price, then that’s a whole different story, and maybe that is what’s making Obama and Emanuel act so guilty.
You asked me if there was any scenario in which I would praise Obama. Yes, if he supports freedom, keeps the military strong, protects America from terrorists with the same degree of success as George Bush, advances smaller government, reduces regulatory intervention, doesn’t turn America into a socialistic state, appoints judges who are at the very least centerists and not wild-eyed liberal activists.....fat chance of that, I would recognize him for that. I doubt he will do any of these things, quite the opposite, so I suppose I’ll be ragging on Obama through most of his administration.
My question to you is how can you not be extremely critical of him. He has broken or in the process of breaking most of his “campaign” promises and dumping on the people who elected him by appointing old Clinton/Washington hacks. WHERE’S THE CHANGE?

L,I understand your point. But for all those who put their eggs in the one basket of a nebulous concept by an inexperienced senator with almost no specifics and the future of the world in chaos is a mental bridge too far for me to contemplate.

If he does fire him it will be because he has no use for him anymore. He has no voting influence. Or he may not want the distraction or he may want to show he is an equal opportunity politician. After all with democrats it's all about image.

tos, If Obama does fire Fitzgerald I think it's admitting guilt in the Blogojevich situation. So either way, I think it will damage Obama...or at least tarnish his halo a little.
